CuRE

CuRE considers the current geological and cultural epoch and proposes a shift in values in the bodies we inhabit- the physical, mortal body and the earth. The remediation of an open pit copper mine to a wellness resort, questions the ways landscapes are consumed from extraction to experience and how the consumer products of extraction relate to experience through an object oriented ontological consideration of copper.

In understanding a new geological time, CuRE proposes to sculpt a new landscape binding post-industrial waste back into bedrock that forms the backdrop of tourism in the contemporary sublime.
