Concourse Convergence

CONCOURSE CONVERGENCE (CC) began with a question of what to do with problematic monuments and the importance of civic space as areas for protest. The Lorelei fountain, while presenting a negative stereotype of women, also highlights the only power historically given to women. CC proposes dismantling the fountain and placing the sculpted figures in planted beds along the concourse, allowing the statues to erode back to the earth.
